I’m Curtis Frye. I created the Improspectives blog to host my articles on business, books, and performance. The blog takes its name from my book Improspectives: Applying Improv Comedy Techniques to Life and Business, which can be purchased for the Kindle or the Nook for $7.95. For a PDF copy, visit this link on GumRoad. If you’d prefer a paper copy, you can buy one by going to the Techsoc Press main page.

I’m the author of more than two dozen books, including Microsoft Excel 2019 Step by Step, Microsoft Excel 2013 Plain & Simple, and Privacy-Enhanced Business. I have also developed and recorded more than 50 online courses for LinkedIn Learning. You can also read over 100 of my book reviews at Technology and Society Book Reviews, which I’ve published online since 1998.

I graduated from Syracuse University with an honors degree in political science and my MBA from the University of Illinois. I started my professional career as a member of the technical staff at The MITRE Corporation in McLean, VA, and, during my time in the DC area, I performed with a local improv group. After moving to Portland, Oregon, in 1995 to pursue my writing career, I joined ComedySportz Portland. Since then, I have performed in more than 1,100 shows with the professional cast. I also appear as a solo performer and keynote speaker.
